Play-Based Learning: The Foundation of Our Program
Our kindergarten program aligns with the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which emphasizes play-based learning. This approach is not just about having fun; it’s a crucial part of how children build essential skills for school and life. Through play, children develop:
- Social Skills: Making friends and learning to respect others.
- Group Participation: Taking turns and working within a group.
- Emotional Regulation: Understanding and naming their emotions.
- Empathy: Recognizing and understanding the emotions of others.
- Communication: Building strong communication skills with peers and adults.
Benefits of Our LBE Kindergarten Program
We understand that balancing life commitments with early education can be challenging. That’s why our program offers flexibility and a supportive transition for both children and families:
- Consistent Routine: Maintain your family’s regular schedule as your child transitions from childcare to kindergarten.
- Extended Hours: Flexible hours accommodate your work and family commitments.
- One Learning Environment: Your child stays in one center throughout the day, providing stability and comfort.
- Strong Connections: Develop close relationships with educators and classmates, many of whom will move with them to primary school.
- Security and Growth: A consistent environment helps your child feel safe and secure, encouraging learning and personal growth.
- School Readiness: Designed to help children who may find significant transitions challenging, our program supports them in adjusting confidently to school.
Funding for WA Families
The WA government provides up to 15 hours of funded kindergarten each week for eligible children. Additionally, families can access extra early learning hours at Little Bright Explorers, with the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) helping to cover these additional costs.
LBE vs. School-Based Kindergarten Programs
As a long-day care provider, Little Bright Explorers operates five days a week (excluding public holidays). Our government-approved kindergarten programs meet the same high standards as school-based kindergartens, ensuring your child receives a quality early learning experience.
Key Skills Your Child Will Gain
Our program is designed to equip your child with vital skills for school:
- Play-Based Learning: Develops essential social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Flexible Schedule: Provides a consistent routine and stability with extended hours.
- School Readiness: Fosters independence, focus, and foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
How We Implement the LBE Kindergarten Program

- Prewriting Activities: Engaging in writing, drawing, and fine motor skills.
- Social Play: Encouraging independence and cooperative play.
- Critical Thinking: Challenging games to boost cognitive skills.
- Role Play: Imaginative play to foster creativity.
- Physical Activities: Promoting physical development through active participation.
At Little Bright Explorers, our structured approach ensures your child is emotionally, socially, and academically prepared for a successful transition to school. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child's journey to a bright future.
